Francisco Rocky Garcia is a San Francisco native with deep roots in Chicago. A decorated Vietnam War veteran, community activist, and award-winning photographer, his life has been shaped by resilience and creativity.

With a BA from San Francisco State University and an MFA from California College of the Arts, Garcia’s work has appeared in prestigious exhibitions and national publications — including the Studio Museum in Harlem, Eye Gallery, and The New York Times. His images reflect the power of memory, social struggle, and the enduring beauty found in human connection.
