THE BOOK OF ELLA

Ella, La Morada, built, 1895, Taos, NM,

While Max would always hold a cherished place in my heart, Ella’s presence offered a path toward healing. I met Ella after I decided to make the most difficult decision of putting Max down. My niece, Jasmine, encouraged me to go to Maricopa Animal Care immediately. As I walked through the doors, the atmosphere was filled with the “cries for help,” barks, and soft whimpers. Ella, with her soulful eyes and gentle demeanor, caught my attention. She was cautious, wagging her tail hesitantly as if sensing my heartache. Ella is more than just a new companion; she is a testament to the enduring power of love, capable of weaving light into the darkest of times.
